I was born and brought up in Iceland, a volcanic island with many geothermal pools and a rich bathing culture.
Water plays an essential role in keeping me physically and mentally fit. I have often thought about the privilege being brought up close to a huge geothermal pool and have acquired the skill of moving freely and effortlessly in water.
My thoughts about swimming have, however, not always been in harmony with the swimming approaches I have been introduced to and have seen practiced. Swimfulness represents what I think swimming should be about.
Water continues to be one of my great passions and an integral part of my life. For some years I have included the water to be part of my professional field. I am still exploring the water and how it can be used to improve wellbeing. That journey is not over…I wonder where it ends…
